T he A merican N omads P roject
Our most recent project, American Nomads, applies an American pioneering ethos to the the anticipated migratory lifestyle made necessary by global climate changes. Though not a literal re-enactment of historic pioneering events, the American Nomads project’s originating inspiration drew from the diary entries of novice prospectors in 1948’s California Gold Rush and of stories told by New World Pilgrims fresh off the boat after crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
The project began in 2010 on residency at the Vermont Studio Center, and continues to evolve. Please see the Events menu for upcoming exhibitions and projects.
